High-rack warehouses have their own physics: aisles less than a metre wide, floors with defined point load limits, racks reaching double-digit heights in metres and fire protection systems that make every metre of platform area a challenge. An electric scissor lift for indoor use typically has a platform width of 0.80 m to 1.20 m and reaches a maximum of 12 m. That is enough for hall installations or building maintenance - but not for the requirements of an automated high-rack warehouse.

High-rack scissor lifts solve four specific problems at once:

Extremely narrow at great height. The Holland Lift HL330 E14 4WDS reaches 33 m working height with a machine width of 1.40 m. Machines in the HL285 class travel through aisles from 1.50 m at 28.2 m working height. Small models such as the Holland Lift N-165EL (18.5 m) are just 0.76 m wide.

Driving under load at full height. In high-rack warehouses, mobility in the extended position is not a convenience - it is an operating mode. Maintenance teams travel along entire rows of racks without lowering the platform in between. This function significantly reduces working time.

Load capacity for heavy tools and materials. Models such as the Magni ES3225RT or the HAB S225-24 E4WDS carry 750 kg to 1,000 kg on the platform. Anyone replacing sprinkler heads, changing conveyor components or carrying heavy tools needs this reserve.

Holland Lift - the benchmark for narrow-aisle stability

Among logistics planners, Holland Lift is the reference brand when it comes to great heights and maximum stability. The Dutch machines are designed for continuous use in high-rack warehouses - with a chassis that works precisely even on uneven industrial floors.

The HL330 E14 4WDS is the top model: 33 m working height, 6.40 m x 1.40 m platform, 600 kg load capacity, electric drive. It fits through aisles from 1.60 m wide, making it the choice for high-rack warehouses with standardised narrow-aisle systems.

The HL285 E13 4WDS covers the 28 m class: 28.2 m working height, 5.41 m platform depth, 750 kg load capacity at 1.30 m machine width. For sites that do not need 33 m but demand maximum precision on difficult floors.

The N-165EL serves the lower class: 18.5 m working height at just 0.76 m width, 500 kg load capacity. The model of choice for 18 m class narrow-aisle warehouses and for installation work in existing storage structures that are too narrow for standard machines.

Magni ES series - performance for medium to great heights

With the ES series, Magni offers machines with generously sized platforms and modern control technology.

The ES3225RT reaches 32 m working height with a platform size of 8.30 m x 6.20 m and 1,000 kg load capacity - the highest load capacity in the entire Luibl high-rack rental fleet. Ideal for logistics halls with heavy conveyor equipment.

The ES2223RTP (22 m working height, 7.65 m platform length, 750 kg) and the ES2212 (22 m, 6.10 m platform, 600 kg) cover the medium height class.

PB Lifttechnik - reliable all-rounders in the 22 m and 32 m classes

PB machines of Dutch manufacture offer a consistently high level of safety with compact dimensions. The PB S320-14ES 4x4 (32 m working height, 7.65 m platform, 750 kg, 1.20 m machine width) is one of the most requested machines in the range. In the 22.5 m class, the models PB 225-12E (450 kg) and PB 225-12ES (450-600 kg) are available.

HAB - wide choice in all height classes

HAB complements the range with machines in three height classes. The HAB S320-12E 4WDS (32.4 m, 600 kg) and the HAB S280-12E 4WDS (28 m, 600 kg) cover the upper range. In the 22.5 m class, models with 600 kg and - in the heavy-duty version HAB S225-24 - with 750 kg load capacity are available.

Intralogistics and warehouse planning. Maintenance of conveyor systems, sprinkler systems and lighting above active storage locations. What matters here is that the machine does not block the storage structure and can navigate between the racks.

E-commerce logistics. Busy distribution centres with automated storage technology require regular maintenance at height. The combination of narrowness and load capacity is indispensable in this segment.

Industrial halls - lighting, ventilation, fire protection. Tall factory halls with narrow column spacing need slim machines. Installing or maintaining lighting systems, sprinkler heads or ventilation ducts at 25 m and above is hardly efficient without high-rack scissor lifts.

Stocktaking. Narrow-aisle scissor lifts can be moved along entire rack runs without lowering the platform. This makes systematic stock checks of the top storage levels considerably faster.

High-rack scissor lifts from 28 m working height weigh from 8 t to almost 24 t. In high-rack warehouses, industrial floors are designed for specific distributed loads, not concentrated point loads.

The following points should be clarified before renting:

• Permissible point load of the hall floor (kN/m2 or t/m2) - the manufacturer's certificate or structural calculation is usually held by the building owner

• Aisle width in the usable area - clear dimension between rack uprights, not the module width

• Ceiling height and space for the platform in the extended position

• Floor type - epoxy resin, sealed concrete, concrete slabs - relevant for the choice of tyres
